So, this is from the Daily Beast, and it infers that military veterans must be monitored. It brings up "the present and historical ties between American hate groups and armed servicemen and women....".

My own belief is that, because Veterans, Evangelical Christians, conservative Catholics, and mothers disagreeing with school boards tend to not vote the way that the staff of the Daily Beast would like, then they should be rounded up like the Gypsies and Jews in Germany in 1939 (too much of a threat to the New Order).

It seems that this article would classify George Washington as a "Radicalized Military Vet".

So, how do you see it?

My oath has not expired. We have domestic enemies in charge (via a selection - not an election) and at some point the politicians we did vote in have to address the elephant in the room. The Founders gave us the 2A for a reason. WHEN are we going to deploy it? Yep, call me whatever you want. I was in DC on J6 and just for being there (not on Capitol grounds) I was forced into an FB-eye interview. I call BS. I'm a deplorable Christian Patriot, unjabbed, white, heterosexual, alpha MALE with a Biblical Worldview. GET OVER IT! Repent or die lost, you heathens! [John 3:3]

The following quotes are taken from a Rand article.
Here's the link to this article: https://www.rand.org/news/press/2023/05/23.html.

"Support among military veterans for extremist groups and extremist ideals appears similar to or less than levels seen among the U.S. public in general, despite fears that it could be higher, according to a new RAND Corporation report."

"Concern that the veteran community is at increased risk of radicalization to violent extremism has increased since reports that a significant proportion of the people who attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, were currently or had been affiliated with the U.S. military."

Certainly reading comments at this website is NOT in any way "research." However, my take on having read many, many posts on RallyPoint is that there are veterans and retirees who use inflammatory rhetoric, particularly when making statements that are conclusions rather than posting facts that warrant conclusions.

From my reading of website members' comments, posts that intend to arouse angry or violent feelings come more from the political right than from the political left. Perhaps administrators have a capability to determine if my reading of posts is accurate. . . .

NO. Radicalized liberals seem to be the ones who are behind the most mass shootings. But we are not supposed to acknowledge the obvious.

Good synopsis. Once-again, "Accuse your opponent of what YOU are doing....", Rules for Radicals, 1971, by Saul D. Alinsky.

In 28 years of service I have never met, nor had in my supervision, any "radical" SM's whether KKK, BLM, ANTIFA etc. Maybe a few in Veteran Motorcycle Clubs where the only criteria is, well, you had to be a Veteran. The Daily Beast is a left wing gossip column.

Monitored, the things that liberal leaning folks love the idea of until it is aimed in the direction of the left. have there been instances of radical types with military training ? yes there have been but it is not the norm. Does the army root out racism when it pops up from time to time. last I checked the answer was a yes. have other groups joined the military and continued to perform criminal acts... yup such as the gang members that were in the 3rd ACR at carson... the department of homeland security published a white paper that surmised that military trained men residing in rural areas were potential domestic terrorists. Most men I know that meets that description just want to be left alone. But you know how most talking heads in DC think, they are after all the F around and find out peeps.

Folks can be radicalized regardless of veteran status. I call BS on this. And anyway they are far less a threat than the party of grooming who have been brainwashing our children across the country.

it is on a case by case - try to be fully aware of how their views and interpretations might have changed - the religions all have verifiable and verified histories of hypocrisies and contradictions - i used to believe that the world needed to become Roman Catholic that i currently am

I'm a moderate, that doesn't belong to any party. I believe that the left is trying to destroy my Christian beliefs and family values and the right is justified in its push-back and the left should be arrested for some of the things they are doing.

I say YES a radicalized vet is a real threat to the security and not a model for our youths and the country.

Speaking of Radicalized civilians, Just 3 days ago there was a Man who had some ideas in his head, Fighting the Police of my Town. they Closed the Highway down here, and were warning people to stay away, because of Gunfire. I believe that Members of the Military having their Military experience, and bearing are Extremely less likely to be radicalized by propaganda. 330 million or so people in the United States, the Population of Veterans/Military members active/inactive pales in comparison to the amount of Radicals we see in the civilian world. I have Faith that Our Military Members who Remember the soldiers Creed, and actually believe in Liberty will not become a problem. a Radicalized Vet is less likely than a Civilian by far, but I wont go as far as saying it cant happen. Just not as Likely. The Youths of our Country have More to worry about in the Civilian world than they do in the Military."including Veterans"
