Concealed carry
Given all the threats being circulated about ISIS attacks here in the states, do you conceal carry?

This may sound harsh or crude but when I was deployed I knew who the enemy was. At home it could be anyone of any race, creed, or origin. I am not a paranoid person but I'm also not going to get caught with my head in a hole.

AMEN to that, well said. I do not want to be involved or cut down as we saw in Chattanooga. That was horrible and so very sad.

California is afraid that as a, retired and previously deployed, veteran, I am too big a risk to allow to conceal and carry. I know, but that's how f'ed up CA politicians are. I need to move.

Folks....I'm sorry...is it me or does this not make sense? If you DO conceal carry...why would you answer this question in a public forum - and RP is a public forum....

Answering this question for conceal carriers is absolutely foolish..........

It compares to showing your hand to everyone at the poker table. Not smart

I used to be a Corrections Officer, so my situational awareness is always switched on. I sit with my back to a wall whenever I am in a restaurant where I have a clear view of the main entrance and if possible, any other entrances. I constantly watch people; their body language, their demeanor, their expressions, etc. So anyone knowing that I am armed is irrelevant; want to try your luck, that's on you. I have already had that talk with myself regarding pulling the trigger in self-defense on someone else. I came to the conclusion that if only one person is walking away, I want that person to be me. If someone approaches me and/or my family in an aggressive manner, if withdrawing is not an option, that person will get drawn on at the very least.

The real question is not if I do, but how many?

Carrying a handgun is like having jumper cables in your truck. I would rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I am concealed carrying every time I leave my house. At home my weapon is always within arms reach.

I do carry but not for any threat from ISIS, but because we live in an imperfect world and it is my right to do so.

"Be polite, be professional and have a plan to kill everyone you meet." Name that quote. That being said ISIL is a lower threat in the states than random active shooters: this article is interestingly comforting.

I hope he does not. He has stated that he will not go into politics. So far I believe what he says. If he were to enter politics, he would just become another liar.

We're resurrecting this topic given recent risks. That's why I think its so critical for those of us in the "Armed Forces" to actually be armed. Join the debate on this thread by SSG(P) (Join to see) and let us know what you think. http://www.rallypoint.com/answers/concealed-carry-for-cac-holders?page=1&urlhash=317205#317205
