I do. Because whether its based on learning leadership quality, everyday life questions or to finding out other means of support, it's good. Sites like RP offer that to those that need it or could extend a helping hand.

Input like yours is a prime example of the good available on this site for people who avail themselves of yr insights and real life experiences.

Most of my friends are veterans, police officers or service members...they are my support channel and my confidants. I do have a few friends that are strictly civilians, but they are truly the exception.

Very true Colonel, seems both Military and Police Officers find their support among their peers. Sometimes there is a social isolation and We tend to stick with those of a simular background as they tend to understand as a result of their own experience. The find often when they try to socialize with others outside their circle it all about complaining about one thing or the other the Police or Military does with no understanding whatever of either professional area. Often the experience is not pleasant or at least uncomfortable and like anyone else retreat to people they are comfortable with and do share experiences and knowledge with.

Do you find support in connecting with other veterans and service members?

Absolutely. As vets and active duty we speak our own language, and it's nice to be able to talk to others who speak it too.

True, I remember the first time I took My wife to a military function and She had no idea about all that special language was about, TDY, PCS and other things. She knows now but didn't then. Its always great talking to My fellow Vets.

To be honest, if it wasn't for RP, I wouldn't be working on going back in.

Talking to people who share a common ground with you is always nice. You don't have to explain things that are really unexplainable to the average individual. It's not their fault, they just don't understand.

The people I have the most contact with and relate well to are Military Veterans, service members and Police Officers. often they have had an education in real life that many regular civilians just don't receive. I find our common backgrounds, bring us all closer together as brothers and sisters than anything in the civilian world can.

To be honest, I have been on this site for awhile and I find it hard to connect to veterans and service members. People don't tend to respond to my "Friends Requests = Connect Button". So it is difficult to agree with the statement. I am sure once connections are made it would be quite easy to find support in them. I would like to think of it as One Team one Fight.
