Do you get permissive tdy for etsing out of the Army?

No but you can take terminal leave instead of cashing out your saved leave. I highly suggest terminal leave because you keep your benefits including bas and bah. If you sell it you lose your benefits and get taxed at the highest rate "like a bonus".

SSG is correct. It is much more advisable to accrue leave prior, then execute that leave as terminal leave between signing out of the unit and your ETS date. The tax rate is 25% and the remaining amount paid to you is considered income. If your bracket is lower than 25%, you should be entitled to tax return/credit but you have to understand that this additional income may place you/family into a higher tax bracket. I've always encouraged my Joes over the years to go with the terminal leave option as its 1. a larger benefit financially that includes tax free monies and 2. if you ever decide to go Guard or Reserves, each day is a retirement point and one 60 day period of leave is equivalent to just short of a year in the RC for retirement. (48pts UTA 15 days AT = 63pts) Don't ever shut a potential door you don't have to.

Like the one SPC said he received. I do vaguely remember there being a special leave you can take when ETSing. But to answer your question and if it's important to you. Go to the regulation and seek for yourself; because in the end as you should already know. No one person has all the answers to every question you might have (they will look it up maybe if they care). You can ask for (I did and received it) 10 days for travel / relocation. I don't think it was called Permissive TDY because that is for when you will return to work where this is a different thing and I wish I could remember what it was called. I received the 10 days plus my terminal leave. The problem for me was that I had to come back and out-process after being away from the military for over a month.
Have you talked to your chain of command on this? Someone must know what it is, but it is covered under a different reg from the TDY and it is specifically geared to people that are exiting service.
