Breaks my heart to read that two Marines were in leadership roles in this issue.

It is very sad and altogether too common news Sgt Spencer Sikder when the elderly or disabled are mistreated by those who are their to care for them and offer them a secure place to live.
It is doubly troubling that veterans were overseeing the care of other veterans and allowed this to happen - a travesty.

This reminds me of that brutal video a few years ago that showed a nurse beating an elderly bedridden man. There ought to be laws against this (there likely are), and this needs to stop. One day that could be any of us being abused ... Why? Simply because we are old. And that's not right.

CW5 Scott Montgomery: In my tenure with VA I had the unfortunate assignment of performing administrative investigations and know of many more AIB (Administrative Investigation Boards). While I didn't care to get an assignment, the process was important to protect those who were in our charge. Each of the facilities for which I worked, the Director didn't play games. He/she didn't tolerate inappropriate behavior.
