Here is a shot following my retirement ceremony (May 2016) ending 41+ years combined service. In the picture is my favorite Captain, Spouse and Daughter.

This was from August 2008, when I was still in training for base security, right before I made E5. I believe it is my last uniformed picture in the service (besides my ID of course)

Receiving The Air Force Commendation Medal about one week prior to departing Vietnam. This picture was taken inside The 7th Air Force Headquarters Building on Tan Son Nhut Air Base in RVN. This is with Brig Gen Homer K. Hansen The Commander of TACC. Picture taken in August 1969.

My last position served was as Combat Systems Officer at the Aegis Combat Systems Engineering Development Site (CSEDS) at Moorestown New Jersey. It was also the location of my retirement ceremony in March 1990. It was the culmination of 23+ years service in the Navy (1966-1990), or as it is said in the poem, .."for 23 years I stood the watch". The CO was Capt. Gill Monell. At the culmination of the ceremony, I was "Piped over the side" as pictured with me returning a hand salute from "Side Boys while the Boatswain piped me over. This is a very solemn event in the ceremony for me and my wife. Present at my retirement was my father who served as a 2nd Class Gunners mate in world War II and I could tell he was very moved by the event! My wife, who held the fort down all those years I was at sea was also moved to tears! The last photo of me holding a bottle of Jack Daniels was taken at my home, and the last photo of me in my Navy Uniform!

As I am still in the Texas State Guard, this is my promotion to E-7 last August. May have been some pics since then, but I don't have them. LOL

This picture was taken in 1997. Now, my dad has Parkinson's and is in a nursing home. I intend on putting this photo in a mini shadow box with a special coin that a shipmate is making for us and giving it to my dad for Christmas. I am sure that the mini shadow box will be a big conversation point!
