Do you now have a lot of self-respect as a result of having served in the U.S. military? Do others respect you?

I, like so many others, am very proud of my service in the military. Whether someone serves just four years (like my oldest brother) or "goes the distance" and is in for 20+, we should all be proud that we made the sacrifice for our nation.

I absolutely concur with you; LTC Jason Strickland.
Some paid the ultimate price.
Others of us, sacrificed mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I am overjoyed that you are proud of your military service; Lieutenant Colonel.
You deserve to be.

I have always had a lot of self-respect and pride in Serving in Vietnam as a Combat Vet and finally, after so many years, others finally respect all of us who served in that God forsaken War! It took over 40 years before anyone ever thanked me for my Service or ever said "Welcome Home!"
