I have my name tags and US ARMY sewn on. I like it better then the Velcro.

Sew on. The velcro always curles up.

Sew on looks better, lasts longer, ages with the uniform an in all reality, we don't change branches w/o changing uniforms today, and with the exception of a marital status change, no one changes their last name that often. Back in the day you got your uniforms issued with "US Army" tapes sewn on already.

Sir,
I'd argue how bad was it to change unit patches?

Oh I agree with keeping the SSI and rank Velcro SFC (Join to see),this post specifically mentions the name and branch tapes. Lord knows any unit with a tab or the big-ass 1st CAV or 2nd ID patches were "fun" to sew on, then remove to see the non-weathered uniform underneath a few years later.

Sir, I have seen that and I laughed to myself when I did. However, if I was off of a Cav assignment I would just buy a new set. I am a E5 so I'm rolling in dough.

MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca in Puerto Rico you keep your last name when married, so it is a good deal here for SM who get married.

Sew on looks better. I do not like velcro because it wears out and too many times have we all "velcroed ourselves" to another ACU jacket with the guy standing/sitting next to us. One time I even took off another unit patch as I walked by another Soldier. Had I not notice this, he would have wondered where his patch went. I too would have wondered how I ended up with two unit patches.
