Parents were freaking out when teenagers wanted Thriller, Thriller, Thriller merchandise. I was in Italy, cruising the Med. In every port of call, young people were dressing like Thriller Michael. The disco clubs were jamming Thriller.

I doubt very much that sort of impact from Michael Jackson's Thriller video. What did attract people was the talent of His singing with the precise footwork and dancing added. This did draw a very large fan base which should not have been a surprise to anyone with such a display of talent and work. It seems to Me any parent that actually had issues with that may have their own problems and a complete lack of understanding of a talent display that was enjoyed by Young people that did NOT ever warrant any concern.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter that is what I saw, an exhibit of talent, fun, and dancing. Some of the remarks I heard from parents made me think they were looking for exorcists in the yellow pages. The encounters I had were very positive and focused on emulating the world's hottest entertainer, at that time.

SGT Lorenzo Nieto I lost it, hahaha, LOL, when I saw your comment. You are right to say so, "they should not own a television". That is our early 20s movement. If he were alive he would be about 67 years old.
