Do you think the time is coming when all military members will carry a weapon to and from work?

If they are qualified with the weapon and their are no identified behavioral issues I don't see why not. We could start with Officers and SNCO's then go into the NCO ranks. These are people we should be able to trust. The general population carries weapons (concealed and open carry) why shouldn't the armed forces.
We have had very weak leadership and an anti gun administration. Even in the face of attacks on US Military installations the leadership has done nothing to make them harder targets. Time to do something different. We will at least have a real chance come January 21 to get smarter people with less ideological issues with guns in the white house.

it's already happened in California full-time soldiers AGR active Guard Reserve are armed at their workplace. so any active shooter is going to find out someone's going to shoot back.

Surprising to hear that since California is by far the worst state in the union when it comes to their ridiculous gun laws!! But I bet your soldiers are not aloud to take those weapons with them when they leave the base are they?
The chances of anything happening on a base are very low, I know there was the one attack in Texas awhile back and I agree if this saves just one life it is worth doing!

Given the sheer amount of issues we have with binge drinking, alcohol abuse, sexual harassment, sexual assault, PTSD, spousal abuse, suicide etc.... I certainly hope not...

Ha, why not???!!! Soldiers walk around all day everyday in combat zones locked & loaded. Go around out in the field strapped all the time. So what the fuck is the difference on Base?? NOTHING, it's just jackholes way to control you... It is your right to bear arms. Quit lying down like a dog. Stand up and kick some ass.

SFC Zach K. - In the small restaurant we frequent in our state (which has enjoyed Constitutional Carry since the late 1700's), it's fairly routine for the owner and guests to show their latest acquisitions. Never had a problem. We are normally either the first or second 'Most Safe' state.

SFC Zach K. - My high school was the same, especially during deer season (which is ongoing now). There should be a 'fast-track' for folks with many years of experience and a different approach to those with 'issues'. I know quite a bit about the Germans too - ich habe in Hamburg zwei Jahre gewohnt und meine Frau ist deutsche.
