I posted something about the Valor Clinic Foundation, which helps homeless veterans in our region. The post was well received, voted up, responded to, and I thought worthy of this site.
I cannot find the post anywhere. I search my discussions, searched using the search tool, clicked on my notifications that linked to the post, and nothing is working.
Did someone remove it? Flag it?
Did the post break a rule of some sort??

ALL DAY LONG!!!
I've suggested many times that when RP deletes posts, that they leave a placeholder showing the deletion [which would definitely reveal how much content RP DOES delete] and also show enough respect to PM the person whose message they deleted with the reason for the deletion.
Even FACEBOOK has enough courtesy to tell you that they removed one of your posts and why. I'd be happy with that much. So far, these suggestions have fallen on deaf ears.

CPL Pearson,
Yes, some higher-level RallyPoint administrators do have the ability to remove posts. They will generally only do this if the post is not in line with the RallyPoint Community Standards listed here:
http://support.rallypoint.com/customer/portal/articles/1545301
Generally, it is not advisable to promote an organization using the discussion board without asking a question or starting a discussion. If you need clarification of the community standards, you can email [login to see] .

If someone made a similar post earlier, then the two would have been joined into one. This happened to me once and you don't receive any notification of it happening.

Cpl Anthony Pearson Oh, you too have posts vanish? Some of mine vanish after receiving some upvotes w/o fanfare or a comment.. Are the Administrators acting anonymously, or just negligent by not commenting when they delete a post?

CSM Charles Hayden Passed 7/29/2025 "Are the Administrators acting anonymously, or just negligent by not commenting when they delete a post"
Im going to suggest neither of your two options.
1st, the system sends you a message that includes the admins name who took the action.. If your not seeing that perhaps its ending up in your spam folder, filtered by your email ISP or other issue.
2nd, looking at your posts, I do not see any that would indict you post anything an Admin would hide.. ... that is the only action we can take,,a post that clearly violates the terms of service a member admin can choose to hide the post, you get notified it happened happened and you an contact the admin.
If we were to convert an improperly posted personal update or shared link that was posted mistakenly as a question again, you would get notification.
About the only admin action that could be taken "anonymously" is if the community manager were to delete your account or if an admin edited your posts title or tags (we do not edit content) and as a rule, the only time we edit with notification is a a clear typo "Im halving ash potatoes for dinner" An admin might correct ash to mash and choose not to notify the user |If you think there is a post that has been hidden and you were not notified, by all means let us know, there may be a glitch or bug happening we don't know about.

Cpl Anthony Pearson CW4 (Join to see) there are lots of frustrating and recurring problems on here but they definitely don't fall on deaf ears. Since I joined RallyPoint, it has become almost unrecognizable from the original product (and I am not one of the original members). Change comes slow with 750,000 + members suggesting that the direction be changed. The big issues with closing threads isn't censorship as much as trying to give credit for the discussion to the member that started the topic first. This happens A LOT when members make it a habit of just recycling the trending/breaking news from other media sites that shall remain nameless. It is almost impossible to have a great discussion on a topic that is being discussed in 3 separate locations. If the topics are essentially identical ('check this out', 'what do you think about this') they should be merged. If the identical news topic is posted in different ways ('what will this bombing effect have on the Muslim community', 'how do we spend money on this bombing campaign when our own veterans are homeless') then both should be left open. Member admins are only human and we make mistakes. Please feel free to contact the help desk and member/admin actions can easily be reviewed and overridden if done in error.

It seems like there is neither rhyme nor reason in removing the posts. Not even a courtesy to notify the authors or explain "why." I'll check back in 6 months to see if it still is a "private venture," sort of "we do not have to explain ourselves to anyone. "

They don't like promoting "regional" stuff.... not yet, anyway. There are some "politically correct" *cough cough* answers here:
http://support.rallypoint.com/customer/portal/articles/1415647-inappropriate-answers-and-discussion-posts
I hope that once they get to regional groups/calendar working (which I have been told is in the works...one day), they will remove the ridiculous rule about not posting community/local events.

It is ridiculous. These local events provide DIRECT SUPPORT to veterans in need. RallyPoint is a means to get that word out to the masses. People who by their very nature are passionate about helping fellow vets.

I have never heard of posts being removed. I have seen posts get combined though as they were similar.

Posts get removed ALL THE TIME. Used to happen more often awhile back when RP discussion threads were starting to resemble the pettiness and drama often found on Progressive leaning Facebook.
I had several posts removed and it prompted me to ask the RP staff if they were pushing a Progressive agenda. Of course, they denied doing that, but RP has taken some steps to improve moderation in discussions, and the results have been positive and noticeable.

I posted once, when I did I was within the topic and content was appropriate. Later I looked back at it and found my original post was edited ,it had changed wording, deletions, and text added to it. I had saved both versions and it is clear someone changed it. Not one word who or why.
