What if rather than draw down we take all those troops and open new bases on the US borders. North and South Both Borders. Then any other units being taken out of Europe or any other are doing the same. A human wall of troops. Best use of assets. Just my opinion.

Great idea, but they would need to become part of Border Patrol and not the US armed services to avoid any possible constitutional conflict with posse comitatis.

Exactly since they want to reduce the number and hire more Border Patrol why not, take them from AD drawdown and give the Border Patrol instant manpower

That's assuming that the separating Service Members are wanting to, and qualified to become Boarder Patrol agents (neither should be assumed).
