Don't have the cartoon anymore, but
I was reading Stars & Stripes in the Tokin Gulf in early '69 and came across a "Sgt Mike" cartoon. Sgt Mike is sitting in the career counselor's office saying, "Thought about shipping over. Thought about it, laughed about it, forgot about it!"

Not military related, but the sign over the toilet reminded me about a sign I saw in a stall at a truck stop. "Remember, a minute in here is shorter than a minute out there."
