Just received this image via text from my sister-in-law, with the caption "First high resolution image of Pluto causes concern." It was followed by a message explaining that my little brother didn't get it. Oh how I thought Star Wars transcended generations!
Any takers on whether or not kids from the 80s signify a whole other generation, or if the generational divide happened later?

"I'm afraid this Death Star is quite operational!"
With that said, the generational divide happened later in my opinion. The 80's were my most formative years (I was born in 1974) and I totally get it! Maybe the later 80's, but you had to be pretty much living under a rock to not know what Return of the Jedi was!

Thanks for the post, CW3 (Join to see), but SOME of us are NOT surprised.
Some say that Planet Info Wars MAY have obtained UNCONFIRMED information from ANONYMOUS sources that ALLEGE that the "once-was/then-wasn't/now-is-it? 'planet'" is not QUITE operational (sorry, PO1 John Miller, and it is UNCONFIRMED...). They're waiting for a shipment of "special" fuel from Iran...

PO1 John Miller I think this deflector shield you speak of may be a good investment for some military aircraft.

Well...I know my kids treat me in ways I would never have dared treat my dad when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's, sooo...I'm inclined to think that we're a whole other generation.

I see the same thing everywhere, I am glad I have not had that struggle with my daughter though. Of course, it is probably coming with the teenage years fast approaching.

CW3 (Join to see) - I'm inclined to believe, based solely upon your career achievements, that you have not allowed her to be raised to feel like she's entitled to anything but what children should be, as opposed to most of today's kids/young adults who seem to think the world owes them everything. Therefore, I suspect you'll have an easier time of it. Teenage girls are hard, though -- I had 3!!

There. You see, Lord Vader, she can be reasonable. Continue with the operation; you may fire when ready.
