My first jump was from a Fairchild C-119 "Flying Boxcar" on 7APR70. The photo is of a C-119 at then Pope AFB prior to a jump on a Fort Bragg DZ on 16JUL70. Needless to say, this piece of junk is no longer in service! There was a kid screaming on a 3 hour Southwest flight I was taking home on leave one day. As soon as that door opened I jumped for the jetway and ran for it. I think it was a 747. Not sure though.

My first jump was from a C-130 at Airborne School, Ft. Benning, GA in 1971.
Since that time, I have jumped out of C-130's, C-141's, Huey's, Blackhawks, Flying Crane (from a box it was carrying), and a variety of French aircraft, including from a hot air balloon, and a German aircraft.

I don't recall who it belonged to, but I do recall it was a Reserve Component unit that was at Bragg for training.

LTC Stephen C. - The CTARNG had some into the late 1980s to at least early 1990s until they were turned in for Chinooks...I did get to fly in one of those boxes years ago.
