I am an unverified member and would like to ask the verified members some questions. Does anyone know who started or runs this site? Has anyone had any trouble with identity theft? I ask these questions because of the sensitive nature of the information that RallyPoint asks for to become verified. I am concerned about identity theft and information security, but I do want everyone to feel that I know what I'm talking about when I offer my opinions on posts. Any help will be appreciated.

Chris, I'm the founder and CEO of RallyPoint. We take your security very seriously. You can block out your SSN or other sensitive information if you like. We don't need it.

Welcome aboard!

All they want is your blood type, turn-ons/ turn-offs, first time you made love, your SSN, and your first child. That's not asking that much for what you get in return. Things like,

1. Down voting for no reason
2. Deleted or removed post because...reasons.
3. Snarky answers from people who don't know better
4. Just kidding....This place is by far the best place to not only meet other Military/Vet friends but also discuss topics only we would get.

I just showed my retired ID card, which doesn't give anything really away. You can use your DD-214 and Block out the SSN. I'm sure that's not an issue. Just give this place some trust and you will love it!

LTC Yinon W. I have been trying for weeks to get verified. Submitted all required documentation all to no avail. Sir, do you have any advice or direction for me. I am a huge RallyPoint fan but until I get verified, I just do not feel right.

Thanks SSgt, that takes a bit of worry out of the process. Don't know why I couldn't find that page, maybe because I'm on a tablet rather than a computer.

I also had no problem since I already had images of my DD-214's stored on my computer. I did so to apply for federal jobs. I had previously registered copies of those
DD-214's with the local county clerk's office as a back-up --- this was in 1974 before identity theft became a major issue. Intoday's environment I would not do so --- not that I think the security of the federal jobs site is any more secure.

I had a horrible time being verified.  It most likely had to do with I had close my previous account a year ago.  I decided to come back.
