Unaccompanied means no one, person or animal, accompanies you to that duty station - a hardship tour. I suggest don't risk it.

E-7 and above on unaccompanied tour are authorized either privatized housing, or to live off post. You can bring your dog on your own expense, and will bring him back on your own expense when you finish your tour. If you decide to apply for a command sponsorship, you are authorized up to two pets.

E-7 and above does not automatically receive off post housing. The only way you can stay off-post on an unaccompanied tour is if there are no senior quarters available. It also depends on where you are in Korea

SFC (Join to see) exactly. I ran into this problem when I PCSed to Okinawa. I brought my furniture with me because I was told E7s and above live off post. Then they stuck me in the Unaccompanied Officers Quarters because they were only filled at 20%. When I talked to the lady at Housing, I said I was told E7s live off post. Her response was, "Well, we didn't tell you that". Thankfully, it worked out or I would have paid for three years of storage fees.

I really wouldn’t recommend if you can help it... They have away of making their way into food dishes over there - literally! But my time was 20-yrs ago. Best of luck, safe travels, thank you for serving!

Yes, in the infantry, 1970's we Ground Ponders referred our BOOTs as DOGs.
When your feet hurt we would say, "My Dogs are Killing me."
