Has anyone ever started a JROTC program in one of their area high schools? Any lessons learned to share? ?

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS , I need to learn to Google everything. This is a sign that I am getting old. I guess you can find anything on the internet.

CSM Carl Cunningham - Believe or not, you and I are in the same "age bracket." However, The JROTC thing is something I had looked up previously. Unfortunately I don't meet the requirements.
I did 4 years of JROTC in High School, and it was a great experience. I would gladly give back, were it an option.

Some school districts cover the cost, solution approach a school district with a complete plan of action and potential results.

Started a school approved "club." The waiting list for JROTC was 5 years where I was...

Was that 5 years to get into the JROTC program, or 5 years to get permission to start the school approved club??? Just curious.....Thanks.

As I stated in a separate post, some of the California Cadet Units exist as an after-school program as opposed to a specific class period.
