Have you ever met one of your RallyPoint contacts in person?

RallyPoint members are scattered all over America. More than a few it seems are scattered over other parts of the world. I've made friends with a few of them. Some are even contacts. But I had never met one in person before yesterday. I had posted a notice about the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War at Fort Irwin, California, and Ken Ellis contacted me to find out if we could go together. We could and we did. I highly recommend that you try it, too.

Yes , me and fellow RP member Keith Bodine served together in Vietnam with the 1St Cav Div . We both volunteered as doorgunners for the 229th AHB . How stupid was that ? There was a shortage of doorgunners at that time and we just out of AIT and jump school thought it would be cool .

Well, PO3 (Join to see) is my brother, I was a member of the same church as CW3 Kenneth Triplett, and I happened to meet CPT (Join to see) at the Fort Benning library one day. I'm sure there are several others that I've known personally over time.

Yes I have met a great number of RP folks. I hold regular Metro DC area RallyPoint meet ups. I have had the honor of meeting some amazing RP folks. We know how to have fun here in the DC area! I have another one coming up next week!

I'd have to take a 2 hour drive to Spokane area to find some. The closest to Bonners Ferry is a name I recognize but know he moved to Alaska so suspect his profile isn't current. I hope to meet up with COL Mikel J. Burroughs when I'm visiting SOCAL next month. Suspect for him it's any excuse to jump on the "ride" and go somewhere.

When you're retired every day is a weekend day and they're all "free" unless, of course, there's grandchildren involved. A great day would be Saturday, April 9. My VFW post is hosting a BBQ at the VA hospital in Long Beach

CPT Jack Durish I still have a gig scheduled for that day with The Hickory Wind Band down in San Marcos, CA, but our Base Player is out and we may have to cancel - don't know yet. Please send me the address of the VFW Post, time, etc. and I will see if I can get a couple of riders together to come up and visit. LT Rus Calisch and Cpl (Join to see) from down here in Vista, CA (if he has another bike now) may want to make that ride with me on April 9th as well. Let me see and I'll let you know for sure in the next couple of days - awesome!

Cpl (Join to see) Awesome - email me offline at: [login to see] and I'll send you the details and we can discuss a scenic route up to the Long Beach VA Hospital where they are having the BBQ for the veterans - we can ride up help give them a hand, visit the veterans, and then ride back - I may have a a couple more riders that will come up with us, if you don't mind some Rallypoint and some American Legion Riders (ALR) Post 146.
