Have you ever tried reasoning with someone who blames murder for a lack of gun control?

Two women were talking about yesterday's mass murder in Orlando at a table next to me. Both argued that we need to take all guns out of society. I tried minding my own business, but when one woman said, "especially all these mentally ill veterans," and I'm sitting there with my Vietnam hat, with Marine pin on it, I felt she was directing the comment at me.
I politely ask why they thought gun control would have prevented the attack and why they thought veterans were mentally ill. I asked if they thought gun control would reduce crime and prevent attacks like yesterday's from happening? I was quickly told that my question was stupid and that veterans are known to have ptsd.
When I informed them that countries with the highest murder rate had strick gun control laws and that PTS is not a mental illness or a disorder all they could say was, "mind your own business before they called the manager"
An elderly lady walked over and told the two women that her husband served in WWII and that veterans fought so they could have freedom to express their opinions. One of the two women said, we weren't talking about WWII veterans, but you know what they say about those Vietnam veterans."
All I wanted to do was explain to them that the real issue wasn't being addressed, but I never got that far.

Try to get them to acknowledge that cars kill more people every year then guns. Maybe we should encourage car control laws? Or better yet take evewryone who supports gun control and take away their right to own a gun or ammunition, or have a CCW Permit, or the ability to hire or be assigned armed security. To get the entertainment world's attention any anti gunners should be prohibited from producing any "gun Violence" entertainment, or developing any gun violence games video or otherwise.

I learned a long time ago that such people live in cloud cuckoo land. They want to be protected and don't care who does it or how it's done as long as they feel safe.
They are just like the people who don't want to hurt animals so they buy their meat at a store b/c no animals were harmed for THAT meat. Reality is too ugly for such snowflakes

I like the definational difference between ignorant and stupid! Ignorant means that the individual does not have any knowledge about the subject, but with proper education can understand and apply knowledgable principles to solve the problem. Stupid is uneducatable their thought process is don't confuse me with the facts MY MIND IS MADE UP!!! Unfortunately the DEAMONCRAT PARTY has claimed that as their party slogan.

I find it very hard to put rational arguments to irrational people and by the way SGT Joe LaBranche do you realize that these two women probably watch The View every day,that my friend is the ultimate lesson in just plain crazy,talk about empty suits these people have empty heads,I know I've said it before Joe,Welcome Home!
