In 2015, investors predicted that crypto-currency would be a lot like the internet. Slow to be accepted (remember, in 1994 most Americans didn't understand or even believe much in the Internet). Soon, we may see crypto-currency surpass the dollar. With more people investing and moving towards crypto-currency, the higher the price is valued. For those who invested in 2010-2015, they have made millions. With the price of some crypto-currencies today, many people believe they are "too late" - yet these crypto-currencies show no sign of slowing down. In fact, by January 2018 BitCoin may be above $10,000 and LiteCoin above $100. 5-10 years from now BitCoin may be $500,000 - $1M a coin.

Many people are afraid to invest in something intangible, or something they don't understand. Something volatile. Remember, Google and Apple were both very risky investments in the beginning. The same can be said about crypto-currencies.

What crypto-currencies do, is take the power away from government and bank owned currency. It takes away the greedy and often times fraudulent middle man, and gives YOU, the people, full control. Your money is moved between you and another person. Crypto-currency is not centralized. It is run by you, and everyone who owns it. A global ledger is kept between every user. Every transaction is broadcast to every device connected to the network.

I can no problem believing that 5-10 years from now, perhaps even sooner, crypto-currencies will be what everyone is using.

History of two crypto-currency prices:

BITCOIN:
BitCoin was a little over $100 in October of 2013.
BitCoin was a little over $300 in October of 2014.
BitCoin was a little over $200 in October of 2015.
BitCoin was a little over $900 in October of 2016.
Bitcoin was a little over $6,000 in October of 2017.

LITECOIN: (has 4x the amount, thus should be 1/4 the price)
LiteCoin was a little over $3 in October of 2013.
LiteCoin was a little over $3 in October of 2014.
LiteCoin was a little over $3 in October of 2014.
LiteCoin was a little under $4 in October of 2016.
LiteCoin was a little over $60 in October 2017.

As a result, alternative consensus mechanisms such as proof of stake (PoS) are being explored by some cryptocurrencies as more sustainable and https://casinosnotongamstop.co/ efficient alternatives to traditional PoW mining.
