During a routine check of my .mil websites, I noticed that my VA information was integrated into my MEDPROS.

How do you think this affects the Reserve and Guard forces? Is it a good move?

Do you think that information should be released with your consent or knowledge?

Also, should every documented sick call visit be automatically sent up to the VA now that information is being openly shared? Would that not assist exiting service members in building their disability rating cases?

Please address any part of the question that you feel.

I talked to a Vet in the Commissary yesterday, who set in the VA for 9 hours waiting for a prescription...This is crazy to me.

Sticking to the macro level.

I have a real problem with the government sharing ANY information about me, especially information which is explicitly protected as "Privacy" (Medical).

The use of the VA system is optional. It is a benefit, not a requirement. That said, sharing my information has real "ethical" concerns.

For anyone who has ever had to transfer civilian medical records from one doctor to another, there are forms that must be signed. Express permission that must be given. This seems counter to that.

I understand the reasoning on their part, however, privileged information should not be so easily shared without consent. I mean, if I can't record a sports game without expressed written consent from the leauge, then my personal information should be even harder to obtain.
