Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail address at State reinforces everything people don’t like about...
Bad news for Clintonworld.

The thing about sensationalist titles is...the content is often later found to be not-so-sensational.
If true, sounds like a case of poorly enforced security policy (in the government - shocker, I know). It's a bit unnerving that it took the State Department until 2013 to figure out such a basic security practice.

I heard on the radio that Secretary Kerry is the first Secretary of State who uses primarily government e-mail. Apparently using private e-mail in that job is routine. Here's a quote from an article on the topic:
"Nick Merrill, Clinton's spokesman, told CNN on Tuesday morning that, 'like Secretaries of State before her, she used her own email account when engaging with any Department officials.'"
Apparently it's a non-story.

Clinton had no official email at State - CNNPolitics.com
Hillary Clinton did not have a State Department email account while she served as America's top diplomat, a senior state department official said Monday.

Well that's one way for Clinton's spokesman to spin the story. It really doesn't matter if anyone before her has done it; it's illegal and really shows a lack of common sense on her part.

I'll let you know about the book, CSM Michael J. Uhlig. So far it's good and very informative. I have learned a lot about what happened that night. I'm about one-third of the way through the book.

And you believe CNN? All kinds of lies follow her and the others. I don't trust any of them.

The difference is that the others who used private emails used G-Mail, Yahoo, or Microsoft email accounts not their own server in their own house AND they had gov't email accounts too. She did this to have complete control over her email so when the investigations happen she can delete the emails totally.

She may have broken the law or might have been hacked. I hope not hacked, but being in jail wouldn't be a bad idea. Do you think this will be covered up or investigated?

I did see a report tonight that she had her personal email hacked.

Hacked e-mails indicate that Hillary Clinton used a domain registered the day of her Senate...
The domain she apparently used: clintonemail.com.

I'll let the situation develop more before rendering judgement.

She didn't have a government e-mail account. Why not? Who ever is in charge of issuing government e-mail accounts, screwed the pooch on this one.

I think this put the President in a bad place. Wonder how he will wriggle out. If he investigates her he could kill her 2016 hopes. If he doesn't it will appear that he is covering up for her which could still kill her hopes at 2016 plus hurt his already less than great time in office

I think it was smart and deliberate. The man she works for over saw accusations againt her husband Bill accusing him of being a racist. Her boss didn't trust her and therefore she didn't trust him. Though I disagree with the act, I understand the intent. She didn't want to be scapegoated for a weak foriegn policy she campaigned against. I do not agree with Hillary most of the time including here but I understand her motivation. Remember when she confronted Putin about invading other countries and the White House told Russia to ignore her.

It was illegal and she should have known it. If the supposed rift in the Democrat Party is true, I wonder if they will use this to oust her from the next election.
Ok I have to do it:
"At this point what difference does it make" doesn't work for the lack of transparency and the loss of emails that could have historical significance.

SSG Michael Rowan, you're right. At this point it doesn't matter. Thank you for your reply.

Not technically illegal, that's nice. Certainly it violated the spirit of the law. So it will require a courts decision to set precedent. From your own article "Jason R. Baron, a former director of litigation at the National Archives and lawyer at Drinker, Biddle & Reath, said the authors of the law had not anticipated that such a prohibition would be necessary."
But officer he wasn't technically drunk driving, he fell into the drivers seat. I call BS!

When you've lived and worked in the executive branch of the state & federal government for decades, you definitely develop ways to control the information flow. Her problem is that she doesn't want to answer the question everyone is begging to know, did you use the email to share classified information? Seeing how quiet she is you can almost count on it

Thank you SGT Anthony Eashman for your perspective. That's the first descent answer I've heard. This will be interesting to see how it's handled.

As usual walking the line between stretching the law and breaking the law. Curious how people feel about her doing this if her email was hacked and it put military lives at risk because her server didn't have proper security
