Holding hands1 570x200
What is the specific policy and or AR that prohibits a soldier from holding his/her spouses hand while in uniform?

I do think that it is a reg in all branches.

Having said that, there is a massive ravine between someone holding hands with their spouse/SO while walking across the parking lot to the BX/PX/NEX/MEX and full-on making out. I feel that the former is acceptable by the masses; the latter, not so much.

You mean I can't make out in the base HQ parking lot w/ a female companion dressed as the lady in the Ball Gown discussion while dressed in mess dress? What is the military coming to?!?

While it obviously isn't a regulation, one of the examples given in this DA Pam mentions this specifically:
"Hand-holding between soldiers in uniform while in public is inappropriate"

There may be other examples in there to help you out.

There is an appropriate way to escort a lady a while in uniform. It's usually in the Customs and Courtesies manual.

However for a little bit of levity.
