Don't think about whether or not the military will be a good fit for you. Think of whether or not you will be a good fit for the military. What do you hope to get out of the military lifestyle? Job skills? Leadership experience? A paycheck and benefits for the next 4-5 years?
Part of military life is sacrifice. You'll have grooming regulations. Uniform regulations. Height and weight standards. Regular fitness evaluations. Random drug testing. You won't be able to just go back home whenever you feel like. You could miss weddings. Funerals. Children's baseball games or dance recitals. There's a lot of things that you could miss out on as you are sent all over the world.
There's no way to know beforehand if you will succeed in the military. But you need to do some soul searching and figure out what you are expecting out of military service because the price can be high, but so can the rewards.

Good one, well put. Now I have nothing to add.
You have to do some soul searching. Ask yourself two questions......"Do I want this?" "Can I do this?" If you can't answer YES, then the military is not for you.

So do you get along with people giving you instructions and doing it to the best of your abilty. Do you Feel that you want to this and What Goals do you want to accomplish and where do you see your self in the Next couple of years?

Jonathan Tillinghast the first thing is do you want to do it? If you want to do your own thing at all times and not listen to others then it is not for you. If you can take guidance and initiative, but change to do what you are told and want to serve then you are heading in the right direction.

Well said, LTC (Join to see). I'll add that if you hate authority, don't care for your parents getting in your business, Can't stand your teachers, then the military might not be for you.
Jonathan, you can be an individual and still get along, but you have to want something bigger than yourself. To quote the Major, "...you...want to serve...". That is what we're about.
