How do you feel about the American flag being modified?

I don't like it being modified for any reason. I get the person's intent, but it would have worked just as well if they left the stars off of it.

SFC (Join to see) - That's really your argument and worth down voting me? Is this a joke? The stats each represent a state. Adding states resulted in a legal changing of the flag. Aside from that the original post isn't even talking about official changes its talking about people making their own modifications to the official flag.

TSgt Jeff Bragg actually that is something that has been brought up many times before. However you also know that isn't my intent with what I said.

One is a tactical decision for troop safety.
Try to tell me how the one in the original post is for something similar.

What about other flags out there that look similar to ours. Who is to say our is not a modified version of the British flag from 1775. It is similar, but is still called the US flag, not a modified British flag.

It's not an American flag if its changed.
4 USC 1 says: "The flag of the United States shall be thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white; and the union of the flag shall be forty-eight stars, white in a blue field."
The picture is...something else. It is not an American flag.

MCPO Roger Collins - I believe so. But I don't like anyone messing with the flag, but I have to respect it.

SSG Warren Swan - Not my point. We are a nation of laws and have to obey them regardless of our personal feelings. I agree with you, BTW

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Why not include the Puerto Rican flag along with the Gay Pride flag? That picture isn't an American flag. It's material sewn together and is a piece of crap. Why would anyone want to change anything that is an American legacy?

I personally find it as offensive as I perceive any modification as well as desecration to symbolize disrespect to the flag. Would be even though they are legal. Since its legal i respect the right to display it; I just don't personally like it. As someone else has pointed out, I have no problem with the the correct display of a separate American flag with the rainbow/LGBT flag. (would be displayed like an American and a state/organizational flag with the LGBT community displaying their community emblem as part of the USA.)

The people getting bent out of shape over altering the flag to the point where they are advocating arresting someone or harming them might need a lesson in what "freedom" actually means. This shouldn't a totalitarian state where you can get arrested for disrespecting or perceived disrespect to the government or its symbols. I fight for everyone's freedom of speech and expression even those I don't agree with. You being butt hurt about what someone else does or says doesn't constituent infringement on your freedoms.
If some idiot wants to burn, step on, or wipe their ass with their own flag that their business and they have the freedom to do that. I don't have to like it but I for damn sure am not going to advocate arresting someone for expressing themselves in way I don't like.

I'm tired of the subdued flag , it is NOT the American Flag, the colors are red white and blue not black and white

Yep, I think it is despicable. I am sooooo tired of hearing about everyone's genitals and how the employ them, put what ever you have back in your pants, do whatever you do in the privacy of your room/home and leave me the f__k our of it. God will judge your behavior, but for goodness sakes stop waving it in my face. Eventually I will tire of it enough to use force to stop from being assaulted. Keep pushing, you will get the reaction you've been hoping for and it will not be pleasant for you.

Why can't people keep their sexuality to themselves? That's my input and you can decipher my thoughts and feelings concerning the flag picture above as you wish.

That is a really easy thing to do when 90% of the people around you are the same as you are. You can hold hands, hug, kiss, etc. your girlfriend in public and nobody gives you another glance. Try being the other 10% some time and you might see things a little differently. You would find that "keeping it to yourself" isn't really what you meant. Cause straight people don't have to keep it to themselves to be accepted as the norm in society.
