How do you feel about the American flag being modified?

I'm all for it. Just not like that, obviously. I've always felt that we should incorporate the Bald Eagle some how.

No, No, No. What % of the U.S. population is LGBT. Lots of heritage in Old Glory.

I guess my response is this.... If it is modified, is it the American Flag? Is Malaysia's flag a modified flag of the US? Should it be banned? I say no, just because it resembles the American flag, it is Not the American Flag. Just my opinion.. I am sure I will catch flak for this opinion. I stand for and will die for the American Flag... Not any other flag

This is the flag of a sovereign nation. It may bear resemblance to the US flag, but it is not

This is my point, once it has been changed, it is no longer the American Flag.

I agree CSM. While I do not like the Rainbow flag, I have a flag with the Raider shield on it. It represents two things I love, This nation, and the Oakland Raiders. I do not treat it though, as I would treat Old Glory either.

I personally find it disrespectful to our nations symbol. But, sadly, we've allowed it to happen over and over, over the years.

I consider it a parody since they didn't actually alter the national ensign. People wear the flag as skivvies and no one peeps about its likeness being used to cover their nether regions. I'm more upset that rainbows have been shanghaied for a cause. I no longer imagine a pot of gold, but Liberace playing a piano.

I suspect Liberace had already found the pot and the gold.

Yeah, clothes made like flags bother me also. I do not think that is being patriotic.

CPO John Jacobson I guess I'm to set in my beliefs, thoughts... I think there are some things that should not change, that said, our flag has changed over time and it's bound to happen again. What if Puerto Rico votes to become a state? Then we will have 51 states and have to add a star. This doesn't bother me however some changes and actions can be and are disrespectful. If anyone wants to disrespect the flag I recommend they take the attached challenge. ;-)

I am happy they have made their own flag. This is not a modified American flag.

In the 70's and early 80's, you couldn't turn on the news without seeing some Arab or European burning a bed sheet painted up just like the American flag. I learned early on not to worry about what other do with "their" flag. My flag sits outside my home, in front of the base HQ and on top of the capitol building. It's draped over a hero's coffin and it's the one that I reenlisted in front of. As long as folks are not breaking any fire codes, I could care less what they do with Their flag.
