THIS IS WHERE ON DUTY, STAY PROFESSIONAL! RESPECT THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT! NOW (OFF DUTY), MAKE SURE YOU ARE COMPLETELY "OFF DUTY", MEANING OUT OF UNIFORM, EVEN AT HOME! IF - YOU CRITICIZE THE PRESIDENT, OR ANY PRESIDENT, IN OFFICE, OUT OF OFFICE, ALIVE OR DEAD, DON'T USE FOUL LANGUAGE IN YOUR COMPLAINT(S). THERE ARE WAYS TO CRITICIZE HIM AND STILL BE PROFESSIONAL! THE BIGGEST PROBLEM I SEE TODAY IS THIS: OUR GOVERNMENT IS MAKING CITIZENS AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! SO IN OUR OATH TO PROTECT AGAINST FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC - QUESTION IS - WHO'S - THE ENEMY?

THANK YOU FOR THE THUMBS UP. IN TODAY'S WORLD, IT IS TO EASY TO FOLLOW THE CROWED. FOR ME I TOOK AN (OATH) AS WE ALL DID! IN THAT OATH.. THERE WAS NO.. EXPIRATION DATE! THE TIME IN SERVICE, YES, BUT THERE WASN'T ONE IN THAT OATH! FOR MANY OF US WE ARE CAUGHT BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE, WHEN IT COME TO VOICING POLITICS !

As a retired E-9 while in uniform I bit my lip even when the presidents decisions impacted our mission . But after I retired and watch flag officers use their positions for political gain and support a political party all bets were off. I follow my beliefs and support those who support me and my political views

Within our ranks, no, there should not be politicized public discourse at all. While in service, there are certain rights you surrender, and some forms of speech are amongst those. Our military must be trusted to back the president for any and all legal orders regardless of who the president is. If we lose trust in the apolitical nature of our armed forces, we will fall to anarchy. Service members should neither praise nor condemn political figures in public. Notice this all limits public speech. If you go home and shit talk the whole of DC, we can't and shouldn't police that. Just never in public, and never "as a service member."
Veterans should feel free to criticize a president or other politician, sure, but not as a veteran. This is a murkier realm. "Veterans for Trump" is fine, while "True veterans support Trump" is not at all okay. Nor is "Veterans hate Trump." The rule of thumb for any serious discourse is to support your candidate, highlight ways in which they are the better choice, and limit public criticism to demonstrable facts. As veterans, I should hope our love of our country would enforce this adult behavior. Also, NEVER imply that all veterans have similar political views. NEVER mock another veteran, directly or indirectly, for their political views. Excepting actual, morally and legally barred and provable evils. If Hilary were discovered with a belly full of babies, "as a veteran" I would maybe say something. Racism can be denounced "as a veteran." Where is the line? If you're a veteran, you're also an adult. Draw your own line and defend your decision with more than "freeze peach my dude!" Respect other veterans and their diverse worldviews or stop using "veteran" as an honorific.

As long as you wear the uniform, He is your Commander. It is Not illegal to Think it. Keep your mouth shut until you're a civilian, and VOTE like everyone else.

Choosing how to speak, or not to speak, regarding the President or other official, is your choice. It is likewise my choice, now that I have retired. I will never use profanity regarding government officials, but I will speak frankly.

When I was on active duty, (“71 - 77”)’ the message/input from Company Commanders referenced our attention to be apolitical. I believe soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, etc is to follow advice of command. Individually, each member of the military has the ability to make their own decisions. Unlike active participants, veterans has a constitutional right to express themselves for whoever they deem as their choice. When a participant whether local, state or federal is CHARGED & or determined to be guilty of such crime, then he or she should not be allowed to hold any office! Therefore, Former President Trump was not charged or convicted of this crime & should not be hindered by a political party in doing such. He is still afforded his 4th Amendment rights.

It is better not to post anything which is controversial on social media. Potential employers and a current employer could take offense to your posting. Customers could also be impacted and stop using your services.
