If there is a soldier on active duty, they need to realize that the president is their Commander in Chief. I think if you have an active duty soldier that bad mouths the president, he should be court-martialed. Now veterans on the other hand have put their time in and it's only an opinion that doesn't reflect on them as it does an active duty soldier

Active duty or not, no one needs to like the former president, nor do they have to speak kindly of him. There is a difference between respecting the office and respecting the person. Being subject to he UCMJ for bad mouthing the president is wrong, and the Supreme Court made a ruling on that exact thing back in the 70's.

I would be concerned if a leader can't accept criticism. Aren't Veterans and Soldiers able to legally vote. The only people who can't accept criticism are Narcists. This use to be a free country. No where in my Oath to Enlistment did it say that I am willing to give up my Constitutional Rights.

BO & JB DO NOT DESERVE RESPECT! ESPECIALLY JB! He would rather have his icee cream cone than making sure that our troops + Nurses, Corpman, Doctors, Respiratory Therapists, + translators were ALL SAFE GETTING OUT of Afghan Land and he did not blink an eye 2 help get out those personnel and their families who were left behind the walls of the Taliban! + with ALL of the Equipment as I recall $750B left behind that should've been destroyed by an air strike of 1 kind or another!
The Taliban have sold pretty much this entire arsenal 2 the IRANIANS, who are selling swaths of all of it POTENTIALLY 2 Russia, N. Korea, Cuba, PERHAPS CHINA & by golly JB didn't care!
He just wanted his icee cream, CONE and Jill burping him after he was finished!
THIS SCENERIO KEEPS HAPPENING with little Joey!
Basically 4 his icee cream cones he has pretty much sold our entire country out 2 G Z PING PONG BALLS ALL 4 his wanton last of having his Icee cream cone & Jill's mothering skills 2 burp the L'il fella after his treat & B4 his bottle, nap, and diaper change!

I believe in freedom to express concerns and beliefs. With that being said. This should be done with taste and respect. At the same time listening to others concerns and beliefs. It should not be done in front of those lower in rank. Heck probably better not done by those still serving. I have plenty of Veteran friends that have different concerns and beliefs then myself, but we know how to voice then and if need be we know how to change the subject.

I'm a political. I really don't like any of them, but orders come from the top down no matter where you work

As Americans (and humans) we're all entitled to our opinion. As a service member, you are best served out of respect for your service and our CoC to be (vocally) politically neutral or even silent. If you are going on social media where you identify yourself as a service member, best to keep your opinions to yourself. Just because you feel strongly about someone politically doesn't mean you have to say it and tie yourself down to a point of view you may later change your mind on or even regret. Veterans and retirees are a different story. While we should remain respectful, we don't have repercussions by the chain of command anymore. Theodore Roosevelt himself said,
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
He spoke about Americans at large. While serving, you are more than an American. You are part of the American armed forces and must uphold the honor of all those serving, including those above you in elected positions. United we stand, divided we fall.
I'd say there is a lot of wiggle room if you wanted to criticize a senator from, let's say, Texas that you feel has done things that go against what is best for his constituents or the American people as a whole.

The problem with politics is politicians. No leader, regardless of party is going to please everyone. However, I feel active duty and veteran alike should at least show respect to the office of president even if they do not personally care for the person in the office. We (as military members) should always support our president else we show discontent and weakness to those who would try to take the advantage. Disparaging our president publicly is never a good idea in my opinion.

Whom are you referencing? And what discussions are you exactly referencing?

If they are on active duty they need to be apolitical. After you ETS or retire say what you want.
