Time in Grade is not affected. Your BN S1 will have to submit your promotion manually

PFC (Join to see) - I see the flow chart on page 20 of AR 600-8-2, but it doesn't specifically answer the question. The chump has been stumped; I'd have to rely heavily on the experience of my S1 at this point. I do concur though that your TIG should be GTG

The answer here is quite simple: First off Congrats on getting the flag lifted for some Soldiers it is no small feat. I can tell you I struggled throughout my career. The short story is: During the Flagged time period you are prohibited from any positive actions (ie) schools, promotions and awards. Now that the flag is lifted, You meet all the requirements for promotion from the date the flag was lifted. So it's likely your name will come up on the AAA Reports (Enlisted Advancement Report), this is a monthly report that let's the 1SG/Company Commander know who is eligible vs. Time in Grade/Time in Service...So as long as your Chain of Command feels your ready for SPC, it is likely they will sign off on the Enlisted Advancement Report and Promotion will be forthcoming....Good Luck and Thank you for your service!!!

Remember it’s not automatic to SPC. It’s stil up to the 1SG and CO.PFC (Join to see)

SFC (Join to see) - Nothing is truly automatic. Only the eligibility is: E1-E4, which requires the CO/!SG signature, which doesn't happen unless his/her 1st Line and PSG are in agreement. E5-E6 requires an Oral Board with the BN CDR/CSM signatures, E7 and above is Boarded by the Branch...

How does being flagged when you should automatically get promoted, then having the flag lifted, impact your time in grade?

So im in the same boat currently, got flagged for failing H/W in about july and hit my 1yr in September and due to being sent to ACP and leave to get my family i never had time to go about getting it removed. Well its getting removed as we speak now that im back with my unit. will I automatically be PFC when it’s officially off my ERB, beings my 1 year mark was sept 3 2020.

Couple of quick questions since you original one about TIG has been answered.

1) You were flagged for HT-Wt (AKA Fat Boy Flagg) Why did it take so long to meet the HT-Wt standard to get the Flagg removed?

2) Where you just a few pounds over or 1% or 2% Body fat?

Riding the line is not a good idea for promotions, its sort of screws with your progression up the ranks, I highly recommend not getting called again for the same issue as it can lead to other pitfalls.

My HT/WT flag was removed back in June of 2020. My involuntary separation flag was removed December 17 2020 case closed favorably. That’s why I was flagged for a long time due to my packet finally being closed out in my favor
