I was at small arms Master Gunner these last two weeks and a student there had the tab. I asked him how he got it, and he told me he started doing long range rifle marksmanship in the civilian world and then he participated in the competition. I wasn't able to ask him a few questions.
What routes did you go through to do it? What kind of marksmanship is it exactly? Standing, kneeling, prone? On the move? Etc.
Any help is appreciated.

To earn the Presidents Hundred Tab you must shoot the Presidents match held once a year at Camp Perry Ohio, there are two types of matches you can erm it in, either rifle or pistol. Rifle match conststs of three stages 200 yards standing 10 shots in 10 minutes then 300 prone 10 shots in 70 seconds with a magazine change then 600 prone 10 shots in 10 minutes. A good thing to learn is wind Hans how to adjust your shots for it as the conditions are constantly changing. Then there is pistol this is shot one handed iron sights there are a couple guns added to the list of allowed pistols to use but most people use the Beretta or a 1911, the course of fire is 50 yds 10 shots in 10 minutes this is done twice, then you move to 25 yards and shoot 5 shots in 20 seconds twice for a total of 10 shots, last stage is 5shots in 10 seconds so twice for total of 10 shots. Someone said it is a military match IT IS NOT it is open to any shooter who wants to participate. To Earn or win a tab you must be one of the top 100 shooters in that match and that match only not multiple matches like somebody else said, if you are in the top 100 you get a Presidents Hundred medal ( full size) a hat pin and a certificate from the CMP also as you are in the army you get to wear the tab, it is a permanent award so you wear it your whole career. You can find information on the matches on the CMP website, I have the P100 tab so I kinda know how to get it

Google it. It will show you the process. It’s a lot of competitions. Not strictly military. It is nothing like your military qualification table. One you know what you have to do it practice, practice, practice....

Thank you, sir. I've been shooting my whole life and just started doing 3 gun competitions so I think it'd be good to Branch out.

You will enjoy it. Look into the USAR competition team slots. The Guard has teams too. Big meet at Benning every year.

That's just the thing, I asked my readiness NCO and he said it's not actually a military competition. It's run through the NRA and CMP, however if you score in the top 100 you're authorized to wear the tab.
