Too bad you couldn't look into being a warrant officer in the Army National Guard or army reserve? If you are under 32 years old, you could get a commission in the army reserve or National Guard as an officer but I think it's 46 for warrant officers....

SFC Melvin Brandenburg Maybe you should see if you could go back in And get another mos. You have to go through basic training again but then you could keep your rank and go try something new. You could go into civil affairs or even work in a training division. Training divisions are in the National Guard and army reserve and they are branch or mos immaterial.
I knew a staff sergeant who went to chemical at age 56.
I am a 58 year old LTC so it is never too late.
