I am trying to re-enlist to reclass to 35T, but my interim still hasn’t got adjudicated. I’m worried because I am getting close to my ETS date, but security is unable to give me any information on my clearance.

Usually take 6-9 months for the interim. Go ahead and extend 12 months now. By the time you get your clearance you will be in your reenlistment window and able to request the MOS

SGT(P) (Join to see) your branch doesn't care about your ETS. You can be placed on assignment right now, or tomorrow. Unless you're already within 90 days of ETS (not terminal leave) your ETS is not a factor in HRCs manning guidance.

It took mine 14 months. They are very back- logged with clearances right now

Correct me if I am wrong, but You should be able to attend AIT with the Interm TS/Sec. while you’re at AIT the process to adjudicate can be completed. If it isn’t by the time you finish AIT, you would go into a holdover.

Then you should be good! As long as your request is put in, then you’re a go for reclass. You’re currently doing the same path than I am about to attempt, so your posts have been a great help.

Most people graduate Ait w only having their Interim and when ever you get to your next assignment you’ll probably be working on the orderly room until you receive your full TS and then you can start doing your job . Happened to all my 35G friends SGT(P) (Join to see)
