MAJ Glenn Bergeron thank you for service and participating in combat. Your thread speaks for itself. I am honored to have serve along in Afghanistan in 2013. I was with the 2BCT (Blackjack) out of Fort Hood, Texas, in RC East. We replaced the 101st.

That makes 29 months deployed includes partial months not days. Katrina relief was all stateside si it’s not really the same. I did not include time in Germany during Cold War as it was accompanied.

How many Combat/Humanitarian tours have you particpated in during your military career?

Four to eight - depending upon how you count them (tours, operations, campaign, assignments).
Service in Korea continues to be equivalent to service in Saudi/Kuwait during the Gulf War Ceasefire.

What about the MFO and UN deployments? For the Cold War era warriors would you count REFORGER, FLINT LOCK, TEAM SPIRIT, ULCHI FOCUS LENS, ATLANTIC RESOLVE, or duty in Berlin?

And the most interesting one so far (in terms of mission) was the humanitarian deployment to Liberia for the Ebola outbreak called Operation United Assistance (OUA) in late '14 to early '15. What an interesting experience that was!

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - For me it's always amazing years later how many we meet who was there when we were. Even though we didn't meet on the field, we walk the same ground about the same time.

1SG Nick Baker - This pic is of 4/67 AR crossing. The Bde Cdr was up in the TOC when one of the tanks slid off the road. As the M88s were getting it back on, I remember him saying, "This is going to be a long day".

SGM Mikel Dawson - That was the two tank companies, I think C3/5 Cav (not sure on company) and D2/15 were already in Bosnia. We had to move early because to secure the Odzak pocket. It started snowing when we got to FOS Emerald City, which we built in the tractor factory on the south side of Odzak. The BN CDR and S3 witha detachment were already in Odzak prior to our arrival.. This photo might have been taken around mid month February. It started snowing 3 February and went about 2 weeks.

1SG Nick Baker - If I remember right it has snowed about two days before these guys crossed. Had been cold enough the ground was frozen and the tanks couldn't get any traction as they came over the berm and dropped down into the bridge area. It was a messy day!

OIF 3/4 with 116th BCT FOB Warrior Kirkuk Iraq 2004/2005 as an LNO to 2-116 Cav. In OEF 2008-2009 with 426th CA BN PRT Farah, Afghanistan. CERP Project Officer. We fixed/built wells, built or upgraded schools, set up solar lights, upgraded the ring road in RC West and gave wheat seed to farmers to plant instead of Opium. We spent a few million in various projects. I also was on a title 32 tour of guarding Dugway Proving Ground, Utah in Operation Noble Eagle III 2003/2004. 3 mobilizations for almost 3.5 years of time away from home in the USAR/ARNG.

SFC Davs. We really owe it to the USMC, the Infantry, Avaiation (Including the USN,USMC and USAF for air support) and ODA/Special Ops Community next door that were there at PRT Farah. I also want to thank the Illinois Army National Guard Infantry Detachment that was there along with the USN who supported us there at PRT Farah.
