Flag pole
Do you raise and lower the flag daily?

I've always wanted a real flag pole, and am looking for a cheap method to acquire one.

Is the flag welcomed in your neighborhood?

SSG(P) (Join to see) I have a flag pole in my front yard. I don't lower it daily, however, I do lower it to half-staff on appropriate holidays. It is lit up at night by a flood light that comes on/off automatically.

I put it up shortly after I bought the house in 2009. It was the first one that went up on our neighborhood, and shortly after other's started to appear, and now there are 7. I get asked about it from time to time. There has never been an issue over it, none that have been brought to my attention. I would be quite surprised if there were to be, as my neighborhood is right outside Fort Stewart's Gate 3.

We now also have a flag pole in our front yard on all of the major holidays. It's being put up by one of the BSA Troops who does it as a fund raiser. At first there were only a few of us in the neighborhood who supported the BSA, but now I have noticed that at least half the houses in our neighborhood have a flag pole up on holidays...I think it is very cool, and I appreciate the BSA kids what they do.

I shall always have a Flag posted. I do not have a flag pole though.

I would never live somewhere that did not allow me to fly the Nations Colors.

I live in an apartment so I can't have a flag pole, but I have asked the complex about putting one up.

I bought the telescoping flagpole and love it. It also has a setting for half staff.

I do not have a flag pole but fly the flag proudly everyday all day! I have noticed in my neighborhood more and more people putting flags out, I think flying the flag promotes others to do the same when they see fellow neighbors doing so.

I don't have a long flag pole but I do have a pole that comes off the top of my front porch that flies the flag every day.  I also participate in the ceremony of properly gathering torn flags and burning of the flags with the American Legion.

I live out in the country and have a small flag hanging from my front porch; however, I want to get a 15' or 20' pole installed with a much larger flag.

I kind of went about getting a large flag in my neighborhood in a sneaky way. I don't have a flag pole. But I have one of those things you hang off your porch and I put up a small one. My neighbor two doors down put up a slightly bigger flag on his porch. So I got a bigger one, almost too big to hang that way but I put it up anyway.

This neighbor has a real competitive complex or something, because he went out and got a 20' pole and a giant American flag...I gave up :) I just fly my original small american flag. Someday I'll get a real flag pole and put the colors up right but then my neighbor will probably go all crazy again!

Hey I forgot to mention a cheap method that might work for you. Try chain link fence pipe...it's flimsy but you fill it up with quick-crete...it'll be solid and cheap.

TSgt J.D. Hall Thank you. I enjoy spending a lot of time in that front and back yard in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Outside is mine...inside is Her's!

The house I bought has a flag pole. I'll be moving it since the flag is in a tree if I get wind from the north.

Probably easier to move the pole than the tree at this point.

I have one mounted on my front porch and my flag flies 24/7 and do NOT tell me to take it down.
