Here's the background. You're a senior E5. Your troops are in formation and you're handing out work for the day. You hand out an assignment to a fresh E2 with less than a year in and only a few months at your command. They blatantly complain and tell you to choose someone else. You calmly tell them they will do this task and they tell you to shove it and give it to someone else. How do you react?

Depends on the situation, however, I would discipline with pt, immediately. Then have him conduct the order directly after. Reminding him the job would have been easier not tired from pt.

Or, I would drag him into the office have a formal discussion if not written.

If you can out push me with 3 count push ups. I'll give the task to someone else... If you can't! This will be your additional duty till you PCS, plus the smoking your gonna get after it's been completed, for disrespecting a NCO! This is your only option!
