Have you tried getting letters of recommendation from former employers, points of contact from your University? Have you contacted your local and State elected officials for letters of recommendation? You have to network and find people who can vouch for you.

I went to the recruiter to talk about the process and application, and I am pretty much qualified for the program. The only problem I see for myself is letters of recommendation. They said I need at least three, and he said to be competitive, you need the letter to be from either military personnel for credibility, a strong recommendation, but I can also get it from school also. I don't know people from the military to write me those letters, and I was wondering what I can do to make my application stand out if I can't get one from military personnel. If there is a way I can find someone who is in the military to write one for me since I am a civilian without a lot of military connections?

I would recommend that you seek letters of recommendation from the college that you went to.

I am applying for army OCS, and I don't have a lot of connections with great sources of people to provide it. What step can I take (help)?

Bandith Phoungsamy I assume that you have already reviewed the OCS requirements. Have you talked to a recruiter, and what are specific questions that you have?

Bandith Phoungsamy - I am of the opinion that if you have three good references from school, work, etc, you are going to be competitive, assuming a decent GPA. Military service isn't as common as it used to be in the past and I am sure they run into your situation on a regular basis.
