I am being told to go to PT by the command on only 4-5 hours of sleep. As a junior enlisted, how do I solve this problem?

We have a new 1SG and new commander. The 1SG noticed one day that only 5 people in the whole company showed up to PT. Now he put out to all the platoon Sergeants that everyone must show up to PT at either the 0530 formation or the 1600 formation.
However, my section is the only one in the hospital that has a 1600-0000 shift. I am being told by my first line that the 1SG says that I have to be at the morning formation, no exceptions.
I don’t want to sound like I’m whining but at the same time it’s unfortunate that I have to explain to myself as to why this isn’t right.
As a junior enlisted I do feel stuck.
How do I bring this issue up and solve this effectively and professionally?
Also: Do you know of any Army Regulations that can support anything?

Been there done that. Just expect it more in this line of work. Oh and make time for naps wherever you are able to. You'd be surprised what 15 min bathroom break cat-nap will do lol. Good luck (Sure miss my PT days)

4-5 hours Sleep? So PT and go take a nap. Buttercup you need to get out now, as you do not have one ounce of what it takes to serve in any branch of the US military. You are a US service member not some whinnie snoflake working at Gamestop. 4 -5 hours sleep it a good amount. Welcome to the real world. Time to grow up and be an adult.

As a medic, we would rotate off of the line and do 90 day rotations at WAMC or the TMC at Bragg. When I worked the hospital 4-12 was my shift and my 1sg still made us come to PT. When we brought it up to him he SHOWED us the army reg that said SM's are only "Supposed" to have 4 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. BUT...those hours dont even have to be consecutive. So yea dude youre screwed - just do the shit, build your character and get out and use your GI bill - to become a provider - like me. Airborne ATW - RLTW!

As far as a regulation is concerned you need to look that up and also look at your command SOP covering shift work. It is obvious you are caught in a catch 22 situation.

As a junior enlisted, you suck it up and get your butt to pt. End of discussion

In 82 to 88, i whined about stuff in military but i'm am taken aback about this issue.
As an officer, even jr one, you have to set the example. As a leader in any business, we have to "suck the suck". Meaning?
I want be compassionate but say suck it up Officer. I was both enlisted and officer and ROTC. I'd wished i had done West Point or other. Point? You choose this careeer. No one gets much sleep in leadership, period.
I learned to function on less. Think of your service members- would they complain about this?
I'm now 57. I can imagine i thought.the.same complaint, but got over it.
Yes i agree folks need maximum sleep but actually some sleep deprivation helps depression and ptsd. Since your work is 2nd shift, why cant you.get a nap in?
I feel.like being Sargent Zan and saying, suck it up soilder.
