I am being told to go to PT by the command on only 4-5 hours of sleep. As a junior enlisted, how do I solve this problem?

We have a new 1SG and new commander. The 1SG noticed one day that only 5 people in the whole company showed up to PT. Now he put out to all the platoon Sergeants that everyone must show up to PT at either the 0530 formation or the 1600 formation.
However, my section is the only one in the hospital that has a 1600-0000 shift. I am being told by my first line that the 1SG says that I have to be at the morning formation, no exceptions.
I don’t want to sound like I’m whining but at the same time it’s unfortunate that I have to explain to myself as to why this isn’t right.
As a junior enlisted I do feel stuck.
How do I bring this issue up and solve this effectively and professionally?
Also: Do you know of any Army Regulations that can support anything?

You already sound like you're wining. You girls at the hospital don't know how good you got it.

WOW............things have certainly changed since my time in service. If Top "desires" you to be at PT at 0530, your ass better be there, no exceptions, none. That included all personnel, including every officer and every platoon sergeant. There was never an alternate time do do PT. If 5 people showed up out of a company of about 120 soldiers, he would've lost his freakin mind. Yep, things have certainly changed.

SOLUTION: Go to the 0530 PT session. Go home and go to bed. You'll get 7 hours of sleep before you have to report for your 1600-0000 shift...not 4 or 5. Keep this up until someone with a little common sense realized that they need a third PT session specifically for mid-shift workers and night-owls.

If you work until midnight, then go to the 0530 PT session. You'll be so tired afterwards, you'll have no problem getting to sleep at 0800. Then you get 7 hours of sleep (not 4 or 5) and all is good until this policy is changed to something a bit more flexible...like having one extra PT muster for mid-shift workers and night-owls added to the policy.

Unless you pulled an overnight duty that would be the only excuse for not doing PT at 0530. If you can’t function on 5 hours of sleep you might want to reconsider your career choices and hope like crazy that you don’t get deployed. We used to go several days at a time with less than 2-3 hours of nap time per day.

Seriously? This better be a prank post. You do the pt with the company and then you’re off till your next shift. What the heck is the issue?

OMG how are you even in the military? dont they teach discipline and self responsibility anymore?
YOU went out. YOUR choice. YOU knew you had to work in the morning. YOU need to act like a grown up and a RESPONSIBLE military member. not a spoiled high school kid. try this solution... DONT GO OUT TO THE CLUB ALL NIGHT WHEN YOU HAVE TO WORK THE NECT DAY. In my day, if you went out and couldn't handle the responsibility you swore to upon enlistment, you would be in front of the CO.

I am confused by many of the responses. If I understand the issue the alternate PT time is a no go 16:00 is his shift start time so it really is not an option. And to compare staying out all night and partying is not the same as work. Yes "Ranger Up" is always the appropriate response for situations this is not one of the scenarios. The PT schedule is obviously set for day timers, not jobs that have "shift work". The solution is obvious like mentioned earlier by the Chief they should walk over to the MP station and use the PT schedule the Law and Order Units use and problem solved. There are three shifts and there are 3 PT times.
