I had most of my injury surgies at Andrews AirForce base hospital. The VA is saying that means I get no benefits for my injuries. I find that hard, and they won't go to Andrews to get information saying I had the surgeries.

I had written a much longer answer to you, but it disappeared, so I will just recommend the firm Gordon and Partners, you can google the information and if you use them they will help you through the process.

God Bless

The VA or government is not your friend. The swamp in DC is there for the swamp members to sponge off our tax dollars. You are the enemy. 50 GI's will commit suicide today because of the swamp. I gave up 50 yrs ago, but I refuse to give in and commit suicide which would make them very happy.

I called the VA hotline several yrs ago. They hung up on me. I called back. The nice young lady offer me a free coloring book. I quit calling.

Without knowing your injury you may or may not have a VA disability claim. If you were injured, while on duty, even had surgeries, were treated and fully recovered you may not have a claim. Generally, a VA disability claim is not like getting an injury award for pain & suffering like from a car accident. If you are experiencing continuing health problems (physical or mental) or difficulties with your activities of daily living as a result of a "Service-connected" injury or some existing condition you are living with was made worse due to your injury you may have a claim.
Do not expect the VA to do much research about your claim. As others suggest get some help from one of the Veterans Service Organizations. Educate yourself about the process. What really helps is getting an independent expert medical opinion by a doctor who knows the VA process and knows how and will write a "Nexus Letter." The letter would describe your injury, how it is causing a disability now and states an expert opinion you disability "More Likely Than Not" (very important wording) was caused by your injury while in the service. An independent medical opinion like that will cost you a few hundred $$ but if a doctor is willing, based on examination, to offer that opinion that will establish the "Service-Connection" requirement which is difficult for the VA to deny.

I had to file out a Freedom of Information Act V.A. Form 20-10206 to get my Active Duty Medical Records.

Sean Kendall. He is on You Tube. His office is in Colorado, but he takes cases all over the country. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I used a VSO from a nearby town. Painless, FREE, successful and fairly quick. I too had the burden of proof when it came to where I was stationed and the time period being at that base. My VSO was absolutely fantastic! Hope the best for you.
