If you hate your job, life will be miserable. The only question is what is worse, misery at work, or misery at home from being poor?

I walked away from a Federal job that paid $120,000 per year in 2005 to start my own business with no guarantee it would be successful. I'm very glad I did it and am much happier now, but it was a VERY difficult decision.

Take your time, think deeply and the do what you think will make your life better. I would only suggest that long-term happiness is more important than short-time income, so long as you still make enough to not be poor. Poverty sucks, no way around it.

I have always said that if you don't like what your doing find something that you do, but don't leave the old job until you have a new one.

It has always been my thought that if you wake up in the morning and are already angry with the thought of going into work, then it's time to find another job. The pay just isn't worth it if you hate your job.

Agreed, and I'm in that situation. I wake up thinking damn 20 more years of this. Not sure I could handle that.

TSgt Jason Burnhouse - Then, tell the bosses to take that job and shove it. If you need a better job but at less pay, then so be it, as long as you can still provide a roof and food for you and your family. High pay checks and anger infused insanity is never a good combo.
