I wanted armor but in the Missouri National Guard that’s not an option (by the way I do plan on going active when I can after college). I couldn’t find helpful information on the web trying to see what it’s like in different branches and I also don’t have connections to ask officers. Looking for advice to help me make a decision!

Considering you're already an ammunition specialist the Field Artillery Branch give you a full spectrum in the Combat Arms working with Armor, Infantry, Aviation, Communications as well as Logistics. They're all good. Do your absolute best at OCS in order to keep your options fully open!

Depends on your interests. Be prepared to have a 5 year plan with different paths to achieve your goals. If you want to talk off line I can provide some advice.

I'm getting ready for OCS. What branches should I pick?

Being an ammunition Soecialist now I would recommend Infantry or Artillery. Your knowledge of ammunition in all capacities would be invaluable in training and deployments. Thank you for your service.

What do you want to do? Asking what branch without a little background into your general interest is a little difficult to answer.

Congratulations SGT (Join to see) I look forward to great things in your career and in service of the brand you pick. You probably know more officers than you think. There is always Rally Point and get involved in your local community. Just when you think you are the only one. 10 of your branch just happen to appear.

I would say whichever unit you are currently under as a Reservist or NG dictates what branch would be available. Ordnance or Quartermaster would be the primary two for Ammunition. Also OCS runs order of merit for Active Duty but as a Reservist/NG your branch should already be picked - as it has to fit the unit you are accepted in, unless something changed that I am unaware of. Also Ordnance/Quartermaster/Transportation all combine for Captains Career Course and you become Logistics.
