Just for fun. Call them out. Everyone thinks their branch is the best. (Unless your Navy that's not true) funny stories about why you witnessed the other branches do.

I was told during my deployment that we can no longer refer to Marines as "jarheads".

...the reasoning is that not all jars are empty.

Define "it" when you say "it is our year," Keydet. At least you can be thankful you're not USAFA. You may have a shot in a couple of years when Keynan graduates but the zoomies are going to need at least a couple more decades. USNA '65. :-)

I miss being stationed at Naples Italy. We went to the O Club for the Army Navy game for 3 years running. Adm Leighton W Smith was the NATO OIC. Army won every year I was there.... We took the bumper stickers and cut off GO so they just read "ARMY BEAT NAVY".... I wish we could have a run like that again.

I can't flap my arms hard enough to fly, I really don't want to walk(or run if you're a Marine) everywhere I go, but on a ship you get to ride everywhere and if the ship goes down I can certainly swim! *grin* Being on a LSD carrying Marines was interesting enough. We spit and sputtered at each other constantly while at sea (much like brothers do). We didn't interact a great deal on shore either. But God help the 3rd party that messed with any of us. You had bodies coming out of the woodwork!

Wait a minute, Master Chief! You said "Like the Commander, she was scrapped ..." I may have been sent to the "mothball fleet" but I haven't been scrapped yet! :-)

If you ever drag yourself away from the beauty of North Carolina and come into the even grander beauty of the mountains in central Colorado, Master Chief, I'll be happy to make a great Margarita for YOU (unless you prefer single malt scotch - I keep a variety of those on hand for "deserving" guests.)

Sorry, I've been out so long and away from military for so long I can't remember any jokes. I do get a good kick out of the AF jokes, especially when they come from the Marines. The honest truth is, I admire what each branch, even Coasties, offer. Without all working together nothing would work. Also, nothing against the Army as I have family who are Army, but when the s*t hits the fan the first thing I'm looking for is the nearest Marine. I honestly can think of no one I'd rather have on my side....because they are crazy and want to kill things.

Ok here's one of my favorite oldies but goodies: why did the drill sergeant get in trouble this time: kept touching his privates. Touché

The AF thinks it has a funny bone. But it does not. Everyone picks on the MARINE's and they even poke fun at themselves. The ARMY, can take a joke, but loves giving them. The Navy....... Well, they are squids who have inherited Davy Jones and Neptunes humor. lol And the Coast Guard are just the bastard children of the Navy.

Coasties have a minimum height requirement of 6 feet because thay have to be able to wade ashore when their cutter sinks "at sea."

Why do the Marines have the best looking Dress Blues? Because the Navy wants it women to look good for them.

I also respect the entirety of the joint team. Here is my good humored trash talk: the only useful things any of the services do better than the Marines are: Long range and long term massive logistical support, long range and long term massive bombing, long range and high altitude air superiority and ship on ship combat.

Every other useful military task is performed better by the Marine Corps than by any other service as a whole.
