If a POG, awarded with a CAB (combat action badge), were to transfer to Infantry, would the soldier be authorized to wear the CIB?

I advise you to lose the word POG from your vocabulary. A professional Soldier knows that it requires every MOS to execute the mission. As a a career infantryman, I learned the value of everyone’s contribution. As for the question no, the CIB is for infantry Soldiers that meet the combat criteria. The criteria is the same for non-infantry MOS’s awarded the CAB. The bullets flying during contact do not differentiate between 11Bs, 12Bs, 19Ds, etc. shooting or being shot at isn’t any different when you’re behind the gun.

If they were to go to Infantry Training and get awarded the MOS, then I think they would be considered to wear the Badge. Not sure how this transfer would work. There is a time requirement to be awarded the Badge also time in combat. Let the powers that be figure this out.

Everyone needs to stop getting their feelings hurt over a name , nobody cares…..POG simply means Person other than Grunt….. if you joined voluntarily and picked a MOS that wasn’t 11B then you’re a fucking POG…. Own that shit and stop being so dam sensitive, if you’re a CAV scout be proud, an MP be proud, Airborne be proud of that shit…… if you earned a CIB, CMB, CAB, airborne, air assault, SF or Ranger that’s on you and your accomplishments fuck what others think or feel, our military has become a bunch of sensitive, needing a safe space, woke, complaining babies. Grow up be strong and when it’s time to confront the enemy be swift and deadly cause the enemy don’t care about your fucking feelings and what we call each other…..

No, but his presence would more than double the collective IQ of any infantry company!

It may be a valid question, but what is the reason it is being asked? Since the Desert Storm action, CIB's have been issued as participation awards. If two members of a squad outside the wire hear a gun shot, that seems to be grounds to be awarded the medal. There are many within the ranks, or no longer in the military that have been awarded CIB's that didn't qualify for them by Regulation. Young troops like SPC Baysa, whether or not he has the award or even deserves it is just being a judgemental fool. If the "POG" has been authorized to wear it, then it is way above his pay grade to question whether or not they wear it.

With few exceptions the CIB has been given out like candy since Desert Storm. It seems that all it takes to qualify for one is for two or more squad members to have heard a shot fired.
