If a solder's room is dirty and he's on leave, can the chain of command box his personal items up as punishment?

Which should not be conducted when a SM is on leave. Whose H&W are we inspecting? No SM present (on Leave).

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS - Health and Welfare Inspections can be conducted any time, I am Old School, I can tell you some very funny stories about surprise inspections of the 1970's when pot was smoked in barracks and we would sneak our dates into our rooms.

CPT Pedro Meza - Can & Should are two different modifiers. Just because we "can" do something, doesn't mean we "should" do something. Inspecting a SMs room while they are on Leave under the auspice of a H&W inspection falls under the "iffy" category at best.

There are a million answers to this one and two million opinions. Mine is make you point with as little effort and waves as possible. Harder heads require bigger waves. You know your soldiers, better than those that don't have daily contact. Erasure you COC then handle it.

I would give the young man or woman till the end of the day to clean up the mess. Then have do it all over again by the following weekend. I'm being nice.
