To be clear, I'm not Anti Vax but I'm also not vaccinated. With all the immunizations and drugs the government has given us like anthrax, smallpox, doxycycline, mefloquine..etc. service members and Veterans are still concerned about the COVID-19 vaccine. Even after the FDA approved Pfizer, I was not planning on receiving the vaccine and would not have gotten it without being forced by the Military. Now that the pentagon mandated it, I obviously have no choice. I’m curious to hear other veteran/service members opinions are?

I was subjected to many toxic chemicals while in the military and have had to deal with that since 1976. I can't imagine that the Covid vac can do anymore harm than what I have already.

They gave us a bunch of junk just prior to and during DS/DS. Conveniently none of it got recorded in our shot or medical records. The Army used me as a guinea pig once, they don't get a second try. OBTW, STILL fighting the VA over health issues from that little trip....

I also am not vaccinated, and get flack from some of my family as well as being hounded by the VA, but I am not really wanting to be a part of this large scale study. The fact that this is a investigation vaccine is always conveniently left out when it is being promoted in every media source.

FDA is issuing this guidance to provide sponsors of requests for Emergency Use Authorization
(EUA) for COVID-19 vaccines with recommendations regarding the data and information needed to
support the issuance of an EUA under section 564 of the FD&C Act (21 U.S.C. 360bbb-3) for an
investigational vaccine to prevent COVID-19 for the duration of the COVID-19 public health
emergency. This document supersedes the guidance of the same title issued in February 2021 (which
superseded the guidance of the same title issued October 2020).

This is directly from the FDA.gov site.

I am long retired, and I got all shots plus booster. Have been around a lot of people who caught COVID, and the vast majority did not have the shots. Even with being vaxed I got COVID pneumonia-thankfully just 3 days then ok. I really cannot see the difference between the COVID shot and any of the others I received during my 22 years, and I had about all you can think of.

I was out after I got mine. I would have been happy to get mine on active duty. Happy to be able to go first.
Actually I wish I could have the one I took and the option to take another kind as well. I have lost now 3 friends age 40 to 48 from COVID. One was active duty.

It has been proven through history vaccinations save lives.
Polio and small pox were more controversial at the time.

Yes, I would and I did.
Now, I can't say how much this vaccine will "protect" me, but I definitely see what happens to NOT having the vaccine...
I've taken many shots in the military for numerous reasons, some probably not completely protective as mentioned, but my question is this...is it REALLY worth ending your career over a vaccination?

First of all, yes I would have gotten any of the shots mandated by the military, when I was serving. I have received all 3 shots, for Covid, as a Army retiree. I retired from the Army, after 34 years in the military. I also have 3 full books of shot records for all the different shots that I received in the Army. I consider the mandated shots to be appropriate to ensure the safety and well being of those in the military. Additionally it necessary to ensure the readiness of all military units to enable them to deploy throughout the world.
As they say, Your Are In The Army Now. You gave up many of your civilian rights when you signed your enlistment papers. You were not drafted. You can say all you want to about me having a Army mentality. However, you are the ones who volunteered to give up many of your civilian rights and opted for the military way of life and were/are being given bonus/educations/and potential retirement.

A number of people in these comments clearly don’t understand science and/or don’t give a damn about being a responsible adult. The information has been out there for over a year now and had been available for at least 6 months at the time of this post, so at this point I assume it must be willful ignorance.
