If you are or have been a USAA policyholder, how would you rate your experience?

Insurance - awesome. Banking - a bit better than commercial banks, not as good as credit unions. Using coverage on loans supplied by 3rd party contractors - absolutely sucks. Heading into arbitration after being refused twice for following their rules.

That sounds pretty bad. I don’t have any experience with their loans, so it makes sense that my experience differs so much from yours.

I have been with USAA for ten years and I use them for everything except my home loan. I got money from them to fix my house while I was in Italy. Best there is.

SGT Ingram I have had USAA auto insurance since 2005 and never had an issue. I pay around $180 full coverage for 3 vehicles. I mentioned in one of the previous post that Home Insurance is also the best out there I have called numerous companies and been told they cannot match USAA. But I will say the only one thing i am not happy with is their Auto Loan rates When i called a while back I got like 3-4% while Navyfederal gave me 1-2% go figure. So basically I have USAA and Navyfederal.

SGT. The USAA is a good company for the military. I have found nothing negative about it. I did not insure my vehicles with USAA because I was able to get a farm policy and it was cheaper. So my home insurance is with the farm policy. Works better for me.

1,000x better than my experiences with Navy Federal.. Let's say that. Navy Federal is so anti-military (in my opinion) it's sickening. They offered me a loan at 12% for a NEW $25,000 car. The dealer couldn't even believe it. Ended up getting a 4% loan through First Hawaiian Bank. My Navy Federal Credit Card started off at 19.9% APR (when every other card I have are either 0%, 4%, or 6%. Navy Federal never seems to be available to reach and has fees for everything! Also, found out after 4 years that they were charging me some form of protection "in the case I die my debts will be waived" at the rate of $34 a month.. $1600 essentially.
I know that isn't what you were asking, but USAA has always been transparent, offered me acceptable APRs, has a very user friendly website allowing you to view ALL your accounts - even from other institutions, and offers great auto, personal, rents, and jewelry insurance. Perhaps a higher initial APR on their Credit Card, but not like Navy Federal.
*I have a $20,000 credit limit with both companies.

I've been using USAA since 95. Always have had great service. They are very customer orientated. I have home, auto, electronics, and valuables insurance with them. Had renters insurance when I rented. They even replaced my Surface Pro 3 when I moved to TN. I normally put it in my computer back pack but placed it in a computer bag in my truck when we moved. Some how, during the move, I crushed the touch screen on the computer. Made it useless. Thought what the hell I will call them and see what they say. They said that it was covered, which really surprised me, and direct deposited the money in a few days after making the claim.

This one's too easy...an 11 out of 10. Been a member 20 years. Would have joined when USAA started, but it was only available to officers for many years.

I use them for banking, house and car insurance. Their rates are great. Their customer service is exceptional. When a tree branch fell on my car, they were out there within a day to evaluate the damage. Within a week, my car was repaired. Even if something isn't covered under your policy they do help you to find ways to fix the issues you are having. I ran into this when I had some wind damage to my roof. It wasn't covered under that policy, but they pointed me in the right direction. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Since 1972 when I went from Warrant to Commissioned Officer I have been with USAA. My motorhome is with Progressive with a discount mandated by USAA and my 1970 Corvette is through Collectors and it is also discounted due to USAA. Call them and ask a question, and you will get quick and friendly and correct information. Homeowners insurance is as competitive as well. Plus , as I recall over 25% of their employees are veterans. Satisfied....... you bet!!!
