I really want to accomplish not eating so many sweets. Diabetes is high on the charts from both sides of my parents families. My daughter just got diagnosed and want her to know I’m willing to change my eating habits.

My resolution is to put myself first. I chose this because I always short change myself to "help" others even if I don't have anything to spare. For the first time in my life I want to do for myself. It's been years since I bought a new piece of clothing or even underwear. Something that small could be a game changer in my life. Eventually I could work toward a well deserved vacation but, I will take new socks, underwear, shirt, or a pair of nice pants for now.

E4 I would love to be more organized but I have ADHD and it's impossible for me keep things in order. It would also let me take a project to completion instead of having many going at once.

If I could stick to my new years resolution I would loose the weight I want to loose, and become more athletic at my old age of 67. I would like to walk at least 3 to 5 miles, and bike also. I believe it would help with my feelings about myself and increase my confidence.

I would make the Va Disabilty office and Social Security Administration Office make quicker decisions on a Disability claim. Me and my husband are both Veterans of the Navy and it has been 3 years since he filed a claim with the VA Disabilty office and still no decision of of today, January 6, 2022. It has been a real challenge trying to receive compensation for my husband who has worked all his life .. First serving in the Military as a Corpsman and then working 40 years as a Funeral Director. Funeral Directors receive no benefits at all for the hard work they do. I am sure we are not the only family to go through this stress. If it wasn't for me having a stable job, we would more than likely be living on the street right now. It's just not fair the stress and hardship we have to deal with on a day by day basis due to only having one income. VA Disability Office needs to step up and correct this so it doesn't take hard working people like us this long for them to make their decision.

I would magically contribute to a savings account for emergencies. I live paycheck to paycheck so I don't have an emergency fund. It would be nice to pay cash for short notice unplanned events.

My new years resolution is to take care of myself and my mental health, and not worry about the things I can't control.

I have a laundry list of resolutions this year and all of them to improve my health….quit smoking for GOOD, cut back on my wine, improve my workouts, and most importantly, take time out to do something to relax my mind! Happy New Year everyone!

Don't put it off - doing so is only deceiving yourself. Quit NOW - RIGHT NOW. You will never regret it.

PV2 Lindsey Dowd, Cold turkey is the only way to quit smoking. Patches, gum & other products are gimmicks that only take your money and give you empty promises. You can do it when you put your mind to it. Be proud each day you succeed.

To lose weight and keep it off.
The obvious reason is, to live healthier and live longer. I'm not way overweight, but I'm higher in weight and body fat than VA likes.
Live is too short as it is, so I want to do as much as possible to be with my family longer.

My dog, Jack, was just diagnosed with diabetes and needs insulin injections for the rest of his life. As a result he just went blind last week. I resolve to dedicate my heart and soul into providing him with the best care he could possibly receive. I would spend this gift card on him entirely.

The last two years have cheated me out of my ability to travel in my retirement. My wife and I will celebrate her retirement in the next 12 months as well as our 50th wedding anniversary.

I am committed to celebrate both of these events with a seriously memorable trip.

My wife and I lived in Germany (1974 - 77 military tour), have traveled as far north as Churchill, Manitoba (near the Artic Circle) to see the Polar Bears (35th wedding anniversary) and as far south as Venezuela (25th anniversary on a cruise), as far west as Hawaii (1980 and 2016) and as far east as Europe (Germany and Austria in 2013 and Italy in 2019) since then.

Our grandson just got his Marine Flight Crew Wings and is about to deploy to Okinawa. Hoping that among other trips in 2022 that a trip to Okinawa is also in the mix.

This year I’m working on me. Learning to put myself first instead of others. I’ve had a hard year dealing with depression, PTSD, and mental illness. I’ve pushed through with the help of a few. I have to realize that I am worth it. No matter what others say, I am enough. Learning to love yourself and put yourself first is so hard for me to do. I will do and do for others but I’m not refilling my cup. THIS IS MY YEAR! Resolution=Loving me. (I’ve no idea how to though.)

To exercise daily and read devotional. It will be great to not struggle finding time or willingness to do them. I know I am better when practice self-care .
