Since you said "magically " I would learn to do actual magic. But seriously, I have vowed to make sure I let my wife know how much I love her, every day.

The resolution I made was to learn to relax...to not stress over something that I can't control...to find the good side of bad events that happen on a daily basis....this may sound like several resolutions but for me it's all in one. I have some stress in each and every day...things happen...things from my veteran husband having a bad day to having to call 911 and just this past month I've had to call 911 twice and then my daughters grief became mine when their father died Christmas Eve in SC & we live in Indiana and then I went this past week to get my oil changed and found out my car was essentially a death ride. So now I'm in a rental until they find out how to fix...but the good is that it will be safe and that my insurance will cover it. The ex burial situation was solved by a go-fund-me so my Kelli could go to SC and then the husbands heart issues are back under control but it will always be a day by day for him. I need to be more aware of the big picture instead of the current bad day I'm having ...I want to be someone who can always see that glass half full or when it's looking more half empty I can find a way to fill it.

if I could magically see a resolution through completion, I would choose to stick with bettering my health so I could be around longer to see my children grow up to be adults and hopefully see them utilize the tools Ive taught them to be successful.

I would start working out at gym to get myself in healthier shape and lose the extra 50 lbs I've gained that I don't need which would help alleviate back pain so I can be more active and have more energy to play with my kids and be present in their lives instead of on sidelines

I no longer am interested in buying a new or used car considering the difficulty in inventory plus supply shortages, and inventory thus my resolution is to continue riding our street train and busses, and most of all cycling my bike this year and next through rain and heat.
Cars for example, the average price for a used one is 27,500.00 per Car & Driver thus increasing from 27% to 38% over MSRP in 2021.
Back to bike, this means that I buy and tote groceries worth no more than 30.00 maximum, filling three bike packs total. And, I choose to stick with preserving my good health, and eliminating GHG green house gases above us. Why? Because I am fulfilled while exercising as biking to the gym often, and being fully aware of not polluting as I am one less car on the road. Let's keep our privilege, our earth in tact now and in the next ten years.

im going to fail miserably. i just dont have what it takes. i wanted to find a way to pay off my parents house. they are elderly and time is quite short now. i just wanted them to have some comfort before they go. everywhere i turn, no answers, no recourse. their house is falling apart. one end destroyed by termites and idiot contractors. the rest crumbling from poor construction and age. 30 + years paying the mortgage on a 1970s 50,000 dollar house. mortgage is upside down and they still owe, 250,000 and change. i wanted to fix this. theres just plain no way. hell has a special place in its heart for morons like me. if i could, thats the resolution id complete. its not about me. its about them. this house has been used to rape them mercillessly for decades. i can make all the resolutions i want. but i cant do what matters. i have failed my own mom and dad.

Have you asked your parents if they feel the same way? I would bet that they do not. What you have is a very honorable ambitious HUGE goal... how about focusing on a small piece of it?

To lose weight and get down to 220 lbs. Not only would this make me healthier but the less weight would be better for my joints which are are in bad shape from all the time I spent on ships in the Navy. 220 is still above my recommended weight limit for my size, 6'3", but I felt good at that weight when I was in my 30's and in better shape. Hopefully as I lose the weight and get closer to my target weight I can start to excercise more and get in better health. If I was able to stick to this one goal and resolution and make it happen, then the others would fall in line for me as I got to feeling a little better.

The goal prerequisite I try every year is to make sure it is achievable and sustainable. "Running so many miles a month" is one of those. Where I had to change that up was when I moved to an area with a lot of snow and slush which made it harder. I cannot run on treadmills so it has to be outside. I had to find something else. The other goal prerequisite I try to find is one that is hard to procrastinate out of. My current goal is so many pushups/abs workout a day. That is easy, can be done anywhere or anytime, and I feel better afterwards. Trying to make a goal like "be nicer to people" doesn't work because I have noticed over the years that people don't want to be nicer or friendlier.

I would like to be able to stick to losing weight, about 50 lbs. so it will help me also control my blood sugar and other health issues too.

Becoming more a man of integrity and character; getting myself financial security and a place of my own instead of going from couch to basement as i am currently. Believe in me no matter how many people look down to me. Know that dreams can become a reality with hard work and dedication; persistence, patience. "High Angle Hell" HOOAH!

I'd choose going fishing a minimum of 60 times this year. My reasoning is that when I'm out and active, especially fishing, my problems don't seem so insurmountable. I'm able to actually enjoy doing something that I love to do which takes away "space in my brain" to recognize the constant pain I'm in which has led to me being a recluse. I've never been a recluse and never want to have another year like I did in '21.

I still have 50 more Lbs to go for my goal weight. It is a little at a time but some inspiration to continue on especially if it were magical!
