If you get a dishonorable discharge, or something less than a honorable, does it blacklist you from other federal jobs?

Can you apply? Yes. Will you get hired? Not with a BCD or a DD. Remember, they do background checks. An OTH maybe, but I do not believe you get any veterans preference points for that either so that would be 5 or more points behind any other vet candidate applying for the same job.

If you have a dishonorable or Back Conduct Discharge you will have an extremely difficult time finding employment as a government employee regardless of it being State or Federal. Slim to none.
You may squeak by with OTH or General but for Gov jobs they are generally looking for Honorable Discharges across the board. The main reason being that gov jobs require a background check and any criminal charges civilian or otherwise will flag you.

You will never be able to hire anyone in the Fed system with a dishonorable. You lose a lot of rights. You can't even legally own a firearm if you are dishonorable discharged. Its a federal law. I can't really recall anyone getting a dishonorable discharge. There was one Soldier that I knew that was pending one but he was waiting to go to trial. It would be hard to make a living with one.

General under honorable or honorable is green. Others can be a show stopper

I was a hiring manager in both private and public sectors. A BCD Or General LTA discharge is a major detriment to finding good paying jobs. If I found this type of information about an applicant, their file always went into the “no thanks” pile. One major reason was all the work I managed required a security clearance. Probably unfair prejudice on my part, but the real world just isn’t fair.

Considering a Dishonorable is treated the same as a felony conviction (which it is) on the civilian side, a DD will stop you from ANY job requiring a clean criminal record. BCD and OTH discharge MIGHT be considered given individual circumstances but given the number of applicants with Honorable, I wouldn't bet the farm on getting hired.

PO3 Aaron Hassay - "Bye, Felicia" is "the phrase 'to get anyone out of your face'," and, as it was used in the Friday scene, is generally intended as a dismissive send-off.[

SSG Laurie Mullen yep that was some word play. Still trying to figure it out. But it seemed like it meant yes to my question.
